Porsche Cayenne Maff Muron top Gallery

Popularity turned the Porsche Cayenne into quite a common presence on the roads. This explains why the German model features in the portfolio of so many car tuners. Unfortunately, the big sales volume made the aftermarket industry follow in the foot steps of the stock car manufacturers. And this is because they started producing the so called exclusive, unique body kits in large series.

For all these reasons, MAFF Tuning developed the Muron project such as to offer the alternative of a truly custom interpretation of the super SUV. Thus, the Muron package represents a complex stylistic approach, which makes it more than sufficient for seriously amplifying the already powerful personality of the Cayenne.

But what really sets Muron apart from other tuners’ body kits is that MAFF proposes it as only the base on which the clients can build their fantasies. This is what actually means to offer custom services. This is what defines MAFF Tuning.

The Muron body kit is built of carbon fiber. The package comprises of the following: front and rear spoilers, front grille with integrated LED daytime running lights, side skirts, roof spoiler, bonnet with dramatic scoops, masks for the head lights and tail lights, a discreet adornment for the boot lid, inserts of carbon fiber for the door handles, rear view mirror carcases with integrated LED signal lights and exhaust tailpipes covers. Each of these elements are a MAFF design and this is why the cars are adorned with the MAFF and Muron logos.

Even the light alloy wheels are a special MAFF design. And their dimensions vary according to the request of each and every client.

Also dedicated to the exterior of the car, the clients can choose a unique color or nuance for the paint, under the assistance of the specialized MAFF painters. The color mix and the painting process itself take place in the MAFF workshop, which is equipped with a high class painting booth.

For the interior of the car one can configure a virtualy unlimited number of layouts. This is possible due to the liberty MAFF gives to its clients regarding the choice of color, combination of materials, stitching design, embroiderments and inserts (carbon fiber among others). Only the finest leather types, like Alcantara, are used to tailor the cockpit. Even exotic alternatives like leather with a surface that imitates the carbon fiber texture have been selected by our customers. And the design, as well as the entire tailoring process are the work of the specialized department of the MAFF workshop.

The general feel of the lavishly styled cockpit is further nuanced with the help of ambiental lights, like the ones in the door sills which light up the Muron name.

And because every MAFF concept is meant to flatter each of the human senses, the configuration of the sound system is as elaborate and quality focused as the rest of the Muron project. So, depending on what the clients desire, there can be installed varied sound systems with first class components from brands like Alpine. MAFF tunes them and incorporates them in the cockpit's design with great attention to detail and in a very elegant manner. For example, the subwoofer placed in the boot of the car is inside a resonance box upholstered like the rest of the cockpit. This box may even include a hidden storage aria.

There is also a multimedia kit, which includes the navigation system and is compatible with any audio or video format. On its main display, which can retract in the dashboard, are also shown the images captured by the video cameras integrated in the front and rear bumpers. Of course, the multimedia unit is correlated with the auxiliary displays, which can be implemented in the head rests, in the ceiling or in any other place, if the client's fantasies dictate so.

The Muron project means personality, refinement, fantasy but we can not omit the fact that our object of work is a Porsche, a name acknowledged as being synonymous with performance and racing.

Thus, MAFF set free even more of the potential this massive sports car has. Regardless of the engine version we work on, we can raise the power with up to 100 HP, without affecting the endurance of the engine. The power bonus is the result of the reconfigured electronic management of the engine, the fitting of bigger turbines and sportier admission systems and all the additional components for these.

The MAFF portfolio includes some unique models able to develop over 700 HP. This is why MAFF engineers also adjust the suspension of the car, aiming to improve its dynamic behavior. The ride height is consequently reduced by up to 8 cm. This is done by tuning the electronic management of the stock suspensions.

The NOVITEC TuLesto with 777 hp and a Top Speed of More than 350 km/h
NOVITEC TuLesto (Ferrari F430) gallery: 10 photos...

There are many fascinating automobiles money can buy but its spectacular design, its uncompromising high-performance concept and its limited edition of just eleven cars make the new NOVITEC TuLesto the most exclusive high-end sports car in the world.

The mid-engine racer is 204 centimeters wide and weighs in at just 1,260 kilograms. It is built by German automobile manufacturer NOVITEC in Stetten in Bavaria. At the heart of the two-seater is a V8 engine with dual superchargers and a rated power output of 777 hp / 571.8 kW. Thanks to its carbon fiber and aluminum construction the coupe has an excellent power-to-weight ratio of just 1.62 kg/hp. The result is driving performance that only very few super sports cars can match: The sprint from rest to 100 km/h takes less than 3.4 seconds, and the NOVITEC TuLesto reaches 300 km/h after just 22.6 seconds. Top speed is more than 350 km/h.

The new high-end sports car represents NOVITEC’s first proprietary car and marks the company’s 20th anniversary. “With the NOVITEC TuLesto we transform our collective know-how from two decades of automobile tuning into an uncompromising high-performance sports car for eleven of our long-time customers from around the world,” says NOVITEC managing director Wolfgang Hagedorn. “The TuLesto offers an optimal symbiosis of exceptional driving dynamics and exciting yet aerodynamically efficient styling.”

Light-weight construction was one of the main goals from the very start of the project. The designers’ materials of choice are normally found in racecars. The chassis and the integrated safety cell are made entirely from aluminum, making them extremely light while at the same time giving them extraordinary rigidity.

The striking design of the sports car is the result of a cooperation between NOVITEC and the Italian design studio Luca Serafini Stile in Modena. The unmistakable shape of the TuLesto was created using state-of-the-art CAD and CFD technologies, further augmented by the use of the wind tunnel. The TuLesto is 462 centimeters long, 204 centimeters wide and has a height of 122 centimeters.

The spectacular curves of the fenders, the front apron, the shape of the rear and the smooth underbody with integrated venturi tunnel and diffuser were calibrated in the wind tunnel to create an optimal aerodynamic balance.

For perfect weight distribution the NOVITEC TuLesto was designed with a classic mid-engine layout. The 4.4-liter four-valve V8 engine with dual superchargers is installed directly behind the cockpit. The high-tech engine produces a maximum power output of 777 hp / 571.8 kW at 8,200 rpm and a peak torque of 727 Nm at 6,300 rpm.

Motorsports was also the inspiration for the power transfer: The six gears of the semi-automatic gearbox with integrated anti-slip differential are shifted with carbon-fiber paddles behind the steering wheel. An adjustable traction control system with launch control for perfect starts guarantees maximum driving safety on the road and on the track.

The NOVITEC engineers and technicians also used racing technology on the suspension: As in GT-series racing, the TuLesto features double-wishbone suspension front and rear, height-adjustable struts with various selectable damping rates, and adjustable sway bars. For easy negotiating of underground parking ramps or similar obstacles the TuLesto front can be raised four centimeters at the push of a button. The anti-lock braking system features ceramic composite discs and six-piston fixed calipers front and back for maximum stopping power and endurance.

Another elementary contribution to the superior driving dynamics of the NOVITEC TuLesto comes from its ultra-light light-alloy wheels with diameters of 20 or 21 inches. These wheels were custom-developed for this coupe and are fitted with semi slicks up to 355 millimeters wide on the rear axle.

The interior design has a decidedly sporty nature but also offers creature comforts such as a climate-control system and a high-end sound system. Lightweight carbon fiber plays a dominating role in the interior as well: It is used for dashboard, center console and door trim as well as for the bucket seats which will be custom-fitted in form, shape, size, color and upholstery to each of the eleven future owners.

Tesla Model S 2011 Photo Gallery

Model S sedan has anticipated base price of $49,900, up to 300-mile range and 45-minute QuickCharge capability.Tesla Motors is now taking orders for the Model S, an all electric family sedan that carries seven people and travels 300 miles per charge.

The Model S, which carries its charger onboard, can be recharged from any 120V, 240V or 480V outlet, with the latter taking only 45 minutes. By recharging their car while they stop for a meal, drivers can go from LA to New York in approximately the same time as a gasoline car. Moreover, the floor-mounted battery pack is designed to be changed out in less time than it takes to fill a gas tank, allowing for the possibility of battery-pack swap stations.

The floor-mounted powertrain also results in unparalleled cargo room and versatility, as the volume under the front hood becomes a second trunk. Combining that with a four-bar linkage hatchback rear trunk and flat folding rear seats, the Model S can accommodate a 50-inch television, mountain bike *and* surfboard simultaneously. This packaging efficiency gives the Model S more trunk space than any other sedan on the market and more than most SUVs.

“Model S doesn’t compromise on performance, efficiency or utility -- it’s truly the only car you need,” said Tesla CEO, Chairman and Product Architect Elon Musk. “Tesla is relentlessly driving down the cost of electric vehicle technology, and this is just the first of many mainstream cars we’re developing.”

Tesla expects to start Model S production in late 2011. The company believes it is close to receiving $350 million in federal loans to build the Model S assembly plant in California from the Dept of Energy’s Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing Program.

Tesla is the only production automaker already selling highway-capable EVs in North America or Europe. With 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, the Roadster outperforms almost all sports cars in its class yet is six times as energy efficient as gas guzzlers and delivers 244 miles per charge. Tesla has delivered nearly 300 Roadsters, and nearly 1,000 more customers are on the wait list.

Teslas do not require routine oil changes, and they have far fewer moving (and breakable) parts than internal combustion engine vehicles. They qualify for federal and state tax credits, rebates, sales tax exemptions, free parking, commuter-lane passes and other perks. Model S costs roughly $5 to drive 230 miles – a bargain even if gasoline were $1 per gallon.

The anticipated base price of the Model S is $49,900 after a federal tax credit of $7,500. The company has not released options pricing. Three battery pack choices will offer a range of 160, 230 or 300 miles per charge.

“Model S costs half as much as a Roadster, and it’s a better value than much cheaper cars,” Musk said. “The ownership cost of Model S, if you were to lease and then account for the much lower cost of electricity vs. gasoline at a likely future cost of $4 per gallon, is similar to a gasoline car with a sticker price of about $35,000. I’m positive this car will be the preferred choice of savvy consumers.”

The standard Model S does 0-60 mph in under six seconds and will have an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph, with sport versions expected to achieve 0-60 mph acceleration well below five seconds. A single-speed gearbox delivers effortless acceleration and responsive handling. A 17-inch touchscreen with in-car 3G connectivity allows passengers to listen to Pandora Radio or consult Google Maps, or check their state of charge remotely from their iPhone or laptop.

Tesla is taking reservations online and at showrooms in California. Tesla will open a store in Chicago this spring and plans to open stores in London, New York, Miami, Seattle, Washington DC and Munich later this year.

Toyota Venza Photo Gallery 2009

Southwestern Pennsylvania is a strange but beautiful place to launch a new vehicle, especially when the trees are in full roar at the end of autumn. Normally a car company would use such a location to mask the fact that their new vehicle is just “so-so.” So we now find ourselves at Nemacolin Resort for the introduction of the new 2009 Toyota Venza with one question in mind: Had Toyota picked this location for the same reasons?

The Venza is a five-passenger “vehicle” (Toyota’s word) that combines attributes of a sport utility vehicle with the convenience of a passenger car. Why not call it, uh, a station wagon? It’s the closest thing we’ve seen to one yet, and by the way, “station wagon” is not an objectionable phrase. There. I’ve said it again. It rides low and looks good when pimped. It’s the anti-SUV.

The 2009 Toyota Venza can be lumped in with all the other family/cargo haulers in the niche. Among them are the Audi A4 Avant, BMW 328i wagon, the Ford Flex and Taurus X, Saab 9-3 SportCombi, and Subaru Forester and Legacy are but just a few of the competitors.

Being based on the Camry platform opens up many possibilities for ways to build a crossover. Front-wheel or all-wheel-drive? Seating for five. High or low ride? These were many of the options presented to the designers.

There are not many “breakthroughs,” but lots of innovative use of existing technologies. Lowering the rocker panels has enabled easier ingress and egress. Ditto for the rear load-in height, which Toyota claims is lower than that of a Sienna. On another front, High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps don’t make their first appearance on a Toyota, but do show up with the “electric eye” (auto-dimming) feature you may remember from your grandfather’s Cadillac.

We had a chance to try both the all-wheel and front-wheel drive models, as well as the four and six-cylinder versions. It looks like Toyota is serious about having Venza reflect the direction the company’s design philosophy is heading. The object was to improve interior utility while at the same time enhance the driving experience. We think they might be on to something. Finally.

Some of the auto-scribes in attendance at Toyota’s launch were of the opinion that the Venza shares the same profile as its cousin, the Lexus RX SUV. To our eyes, it’s similar but different. It just rides lower.

Designed by Toyota’s Calty Design Studios for the North American market, they are responsible for making the Venza more car-like in its approach. Character lines echo the shape of the wheel wells, and at the same time point towards the trailing edge of the vehicle. Arched window openings with a high waistline break up the largish slab-sided doors which thankfully now have jam protection. The grille area is a Camry-derived style that carries the corporate face forward with a look that at first glance reminds us of Lincoln’s new winged identity. Wrap-around taillights finish the rear of the Venza, which is enhanced by a rear hatch spoiler and crisp folds in the rear fascia. Chrome accents help to add a little bling to sheetmetal.

Inside is mix of contrasts and colors. A two-toned color scheme sets things off with a blacked-out dashboard and carpet, contrasted in our test vehicle with light grey leather seating and matching interior plastic. The interior is laid out in what Toyota is calling a 60/60 design, which gives either the driver or front seat passenger the impression that they are able to access 60 percent of the dashboard controls from where they sit. On the driver’s side, a large blue-illuminated speedometer dominates the center of the gauge binnacle, while the other gauges flow outward. A large center stack houses the navigation screen, audio system and climate controls and was covered in a nicely done satin mahogany finished wood grain panel that helps to bisect the front seating area.

The seating is covered with a solid leather look and accented with a contrasting piping. It’s a good style, at least in our gray example, but we would like to see more in the way of side bolstering to hold occupants more firmly in place. While we are on the topic of seating areas, we think it’s time for Toyota to ditch the puckered leather upholstery look that was last seen in Chrysler LeBarons from the mid-seventies. A new smoother finished upholstery style is long overdue and will do much to bring this part of the interior up to contemporary standards and along with the rest of the inside accouterments.

A 60/40-split rear seat offers the ability to make the Venza into a serious cargo hauler. A nice added touch is the addition of two door latch-style handles to cause the rear seats to fold forward for added cargo space. That, and the addition of a cargo area-mounted power port finish out the “way back” with a capacity of 34.4 cubic feet with seats up, and 70.1 cubic feet when they are down.

Infiniti Essence Concept Photo Gallery 2009

The essence of the Infiniti brand distilled into one car and then taken to the extremes to satisfy the world’s most demanding car enthusiasts … this is the Infiniti Essence.

Presented as a concept at the 79th International Motor Show of Geneva, Essence is a celebration of Infiniti and its 20 years history as a creator of performance cars. But equally it is an inspiring exploration into the brand’s future.
This concept embodies Infiniti’s core values as an inspiration for the future as much a celebration of the past. Essence showcases many of the technologies, including hybrid, and design cues that will distinguish Infiniti production cars of the coming years. And by steering Infiniti’s guiding principle of “Inspired Performance” into the super-performance, super-luxury coupe market for the first time, it reaffirms Infiniti’s place among the world’s most exclusive and vibrant car brands.

Aston Martin is proud to announce the return of Lagonda, one of the most iconic names in luxury car manufacturing. The intention is for Lagonda to enter the market place with a unique performance luxury product, a vehicle that combines exceptional ability with unsurpassed elegance, inside and out.
Lagonda: Revival of a luxury brand in Geneva

Lagonda's return signals a major expansion of Aston Martin's product line, taking the company into new and emerging markets around the world. To demonstrate the Lagonda vision, the LAGONDA CONCEPT has been created, a car that epitomises the intersection of craft, design and technology with Aston Martin's established high performance expertise.

The LAGONDA CONCEPT is an avant-garde luxury vehicle; with powerful four-wheel drive, a four-seater car that will satisfy the most discerning and demanding owner. The concept demonstrates a commitment to innovative new propulsion technologies, new materials and elegant forms.

The return of Lagonda fulfils a long-term vision. Aston Martin's modern era began in 2001 with the launch of the V12 Vanquish and the construction of the award-winning headquarters at Gaydon, Warwickshire in 2003. In the years that followed, Aston Martin has launched four class-leading new products, revitalising the performance GT category and redefining automotive beauty.

Aston Martin's award-winning range, the DBS, DB9, Vantage and forthcoming Rapide and One-77, represent some of the most beautiful high performance cars ever built, refined, highly crafted and extremely well-engineered. An Aston Martin will always be a sports car; modern, exclusive and beautiful, it demands to be driven, with an exceptional character that rewards the enthusiast, both on the road and on the track. Above all, an Aston Martin creates an emotional response. It is a machine with soul.

Lagonda is one of the great names in automotive history, a brand associated with luxury, performance, grace and exclusivity. Since the first Lagonda production car, was built 100 years ago by the American-born Wilbur Gunn, the Lagonda name has undergone several incarnations, before it soon began to excel at creating racing cars and sporting saloons.

Gunn's first car was built in his home workshop in Middlesex, England in 1909. In 1910, Gunn drove his 16/18hp Lagonda Tourer to victory in the Russian Reliability Trial, a spectacular event run by the Imperial Automobile Club of Russia as a public relations exercise for the country's nascent road system. The win brought in many orders, and Gunn focused his attention on the Russian market, establishing dealerships in St Petersburg and Moscow in 1910.

The M45 quickly became known as a car for the discerning sportsman, fast and capable yet also sufficiently comfortable for long journeys. In its day it had the largest engine in its class, a distinction that attracted owners like the land speed record holder Sir Malcolm Campbell, who had his M45 painted in his signature blue.

Aston Martin's association with Lagonda began in 1947, when David Brown, the marque’s new owner, purchased the company for ?52,500. The collaboration gave Aston Martin access to W.O.Bentley's new 2.6L DOHC six cylinder engine, as well as the talents of the company's long-serving bodywork stylist Frank Feeley.

Lagonda's history is long and eventful, encompassing two of the most significant figures in twentieth century British engineering, W.O.Bentley and David Brown, racing glory and some of the most dramatic designs in automotive history.

In the 21st century, Lagonda will return, bringing a sense of adventure and the avant-garde to the luxury car market, honouring a remarkable history while also making a bold statement for the future.

Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe Photo Gallery 2009

The Geneva Motor Show will see the comeback of an intriguing product idea when Mercedes-Benz presents the Coupé range in the new E-Class. Just three months after the presentation of the Saloon, the brand is therefore launching a new highlight in the new model series while continuing a tradition that has repeatedly met with great enthusiasm throughout the history of the E-Class.

The new E-Class Coupé offers a very special combination of two attributes for which the Mercedes brand is known: fascination and efficiency. With its classic coupé side aspect – no B-pillars and fully retractable side windows – the new two-door car is a particularly sporty interpretation of the E-Class's dynamic design. At the same time the most aerodynamic variant of the Coupés achieves a new world best in terms of drag coefficient: with a Cd-figure of just 0.24, this model is the world's most aerodynamically efficient series-production car. The model programme includes two new 4-cylinder engines, which consume up to 17% less fuel whilst offering a significant increase in performance and torque. The new E-Class Coupé's standard-fit AGILITY CONTROL suspension adjusts automatically to the current driving situation. It combines driving enjoyment and excellent handling with the maximum comfort. The new E-Class Coupé will be in the showrooms of the European Mercedes-Benz dealerships and company-owned sales outlets at the beginning of May 2009.

The new Coupé offers all the technical innovations of the new E-Class series that one might expect to find in a sports-oriented luxury coupé. These include selective damper control, drowsiness detection, preventive occupant protection and the Active Bonnet. As a feature specific to the Coupé, the Dynamic Driving package allows different suspension setups at the touch of a button. Adaptive Main Beam Assist, road sign recognition and an automatic emergency braking system are other features with which the new series sets standards in this vehicle category.

The E-Class also takes on a pioneering role in the drive sector. The new diesels and direct-injection petrol engines combine efficiency with an effortless power delivery. The engine line-up includes two new four-cylinder models which deliver significantly more power and torque while consuming up to 17 percent less fuel. The best example is the E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Coupé, which consumes 5.3 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres and emits 139 grams of CO2 per kilometre, making it one of the most economical vehicles in its class.

The exemplary, low fuel consumption has not only been achieved because of the new engines, but also with a number of practical measures. These include on-demand activation of the steering and fuel pumps, the use of tyres with low rolling resistance and an alternator control system which takes account of the current driving situation and the vehicle's electrical power requirements, plus the very decisive factor of outstanding aerodynamics .

The Corvette has an amazing design lineage and this Sting Ray concept pays homage to the 1959 Sting Ray Racer and 1963 Corvette Sting Ray Split-Window Coupe. Notice the wide shoulders, sculpted fender forms, side air extractors, piercing nose, and of course, the legendary Split-Window design feature.

There’s even a modern interpretation of the Sting Ray badge and some interesting aircraft-inspired features at the back. Along with the Sting Ray Concept… and the Transformers movie cars…will all be on display here at the Chevrolet stand throughout the Chicago Auto Show.
